Carnival Pieces

Description

Carnival Pieces consists of five character movements, each invoking the spirit of a quirky carnival. These pieces focus on the flute choir’s ability to emulate the sound of the calliope, a steam organ often found in carnival settings or on old riverboats. We hear the Big Top Parade, the Dance of the Blue Bear, A Tilted Carousel, The Lonesome Clown and the Vanishing Magician.

Carnival Pieces was the winner of the 2013 NFA Flute Choir Composition Competition.
