Description

Sophie Dufeutrelle’s Vagues vagues (Waves), for solo alto flute, is a short tone poem that uses breath sounds, singing and playing, glissandi, color trills, and keys clicks – in addition to full, tonal arpeggiation and slow melodic ideas – to paint a picture of the sea.
