Cascades of single notes weave within and throughout the angular melodies in this very Langian showpiece; a showpiece that contrasts the flute’s propensity towards agitated whorls with unusual pianistic fluttering and balanced, long fume-like flute melodies. In several major sections, vent illustrates the best of modern American minimalism and spectralism.
