Chatman’s Wild Cat, for solo flute, is a fluttering and riotous journey in two sections. The first is a lightning-quick scramble that utilizes plenty of flutter-tonguing, with the direction ‘Energetically, with a sense of anxiety’. The second is a bent-note, languorous journey, though still with that touchy, fluttery feel.
