Description
Description
Friedrich Kuhlau’s music for Johan Ludwig’s 1828 play Elverhoj (Elves’ Hill) is here arranged into a ballet suite for 11 flutes and harp in the style of Britten’s Ceremony of Carols or Rutter’s Dancing Day, both for choir and harp. The interplay of flute choir (here divided into two quartets and a low flute trio) against the harp, coupled with Kuhlau’s thickly romantic compositional style, results in piece unique in flute choir repertoire.
For intermediate to advanced players.
