Description
These brilliant variations were composed by Chopin in 1824. The theme is taken from the final aria of Rossini´s opera ´Cenerentola´ (Cinderella) where the heroine bids a joyous farewell to all her days spent as a house-keeper. In this virtuosic arrangement the tricky bits are shared between the top two instruments, with the Alto taking the lead in the slow variation, making it a little less exhausting than the original – but just as much fun.
