5 Estampie

Description

Ennio Cominetti’s 5 Estampie ispirate a temi leopardiani (5 Estampie inspired by leopard themes) is a collection of feline tone poems for four flutes, two optionally doubling bass flute in the first movement.

The first movement, Song of a Wandering Shepherd from Asia, is a sweet yet darkly ominous pastorale that occasionally pauses for chorale moments. The second movement, Quite After the Storm, is a dancing waltz. The third, Recollections, is a serene meditation, closely followed by the fourth Scenes Before the Holiday. The final movement is a quick, brilliant Saturday at the Village.
