Description

This piece is usually played slowly and freely, It features an intertwining harmony and melody. The original piece is part of JS Bach’s Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D major, BWV 1068, written between 1717 and 1723.It reached its current popular form over 100 years later, when German violinist August Wilhelm arranged the piece for violin and piano, to be played on the evocative G-string of the violin.
