Description

Riou’s Carnets de Voyage for flute and piano is a collection of 12 small pieces written in deeply idiomatic styles from a large range of cultures. Flamenco, New York jazz sounds, Balkan and Hindu and Australian traditional melodies – all these and more are represented in this exploration of miniature tone poems. These pieces are especially useful for intermediate flutists, as they allow the player to explore drastically different sounds and musical ideas without overwhelming with overly advanced techniques.
