Description

Sophie Dufeutrelle’s Cholita, written on the Bolivian folksong, is for 5-part flute choir, guitar, and two percussion parts.

There are three sections: a chorale, slow and flexible; a section in which the flutes are played like Pan pipes in alternation with normal sound, and a more rhythmically marked third section that is strongly structured by the percussion. Overall this is a very lively, festive piece for intermediate players.
