‘Sky’

Description

‘Sora’ (Sky) was composed in the summer of 1968. Like ‘Michi’ (Road) and ‘Kodomo to Senro’ (Children and Railroad Tracks), it derives from Shuntaro Tanikawa’s poetry album entitled ‘Ehon’ (Picture Book).
The composition was made imagining a world of sounds created by the voice and flute, which were equal in strength but yet well supporting each other.
